We have dramatic coastal cliffs, blowholes, kilometres of white beach, birridas, the oldest living fossils on earth and the largest seagrass meadows in the southern hemisphere. So get that camera charged and remember to tag @discoversharkbay if you are happy to share the images you capture.
Shark Bay has become very popular amongst professional photographers with names such as Tony Hewitt, Christian Fletcher, Michael Fletcher, Peter Eastaway and Les Walkling regularly visiting the area. So much so that these photographers put together the ND5 2016 exhibition of aerial photography of Shark Bay. The Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery & Visitor Centre is proud to announce that this exhibition is now one of our permanent displays, on show between travelling exhibitions in the Rose de Freycinet Gallery.
The Shark Bay landscape covers a large area and much of it is national parks. Photographers may need to obtain special permission from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions before photographing in the National Parks and or any area managed by the state government. For information and an application form please see here.
